How is "metis" pronounced? Is it one of the following perhaps?

MET -- iss
muh -- TEECE (to rhyme with "Greece")
muh -- TEA (i.e., a French pronunciation)

or something else?

I have only ever heard the first one

I believe it's an acronym so ultimately it's up to the speaker to decide

Actually I can't verify that. MESON is an acronym but the origin of Metis is unclear; it is not remarked on in the paper that introduced it. It is apparently a greek goddess, which is pronounced /ˈmiːtɪs/ in english but I have definitely never heard that pronunciation for the ATP.
